Wondercool Copenhagen
Your Road Trips Foodie hopes you have your airplane tickets booked for next month’s foodie extravaganza in Denmark.
Yes, it’s time for Wondercool Copenhagen, which runs the entire month of February (that’s February 1 through 28, 2013, if you’re calendar-challenged).
Here are some of the highlights:
*Fish for the People: Yes, you must fillet, ridge and cook at this intense workshop before you can enjoy a fish dinner.
*Pancakes in the Crypt: What could be better than a glass of sparkling wine together with a pancake, the so-called Rådhuspandekage — while learning about the crypt under city hall?
*Gastro Cruise: Enjoy a gastronomic afternoon boat trip around Copenhagen harbor, stopping at various restaurants that will prepare dishes where the blue mussel is the star ingredient.
*High Tea & Strangas cakes: Creativity, pride and a deep love for cakes and desserts are keywords when Nikolaos Strangas presents his cakes at High Tea in the designer hotel Avenue Hotel.
There also are events centering on architecture, design, fashion, music and art, but we know why foodies travel (and it’s not to see an art exhibition or listen to a concert — as nice as those events may be, they’re secondary to the food).
