Have you dreamed of creating a prize-winning cake, Road Trips Foodie? Here’s your chance to make that dream come true.

Plan a trip to the 32nd annual Pennsylvania Cake Show, to be held April 14 and 15, 2012, in the JC Penney Court at the Nittany Mall, State College, Pennsylvania (map).

The Pennsylvania Cake Decorators (part of International Cake Exploration Societé) invite all to enter this non-judged, sharing show that’s open to cake decorators at all levels of experience. It is not necessary to be a member of either ICES or Pennsylvania Cake Decorators.

The entry fee is $8 per entrant for as many cakes as you like. Cakes by children and young adults are very welcome as are cakes from our out-of-state friends. Each entrant will receive a ribbon and prize.

Of course, you don’t have to enter to enjoy looking at all the wonderfully decorated cakes in the show.

Demonstrations are scheduled for both days. If they’re in the JC Penney Court, entrance is free. If they’re in the Community Room at the mall, the cost is $2 per demo.

In addition, hands-on classes will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. April 14, and from 10 a.m. to noon plus 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 15 (preregistration is required for the classes).
