Hamper 2011

Submitted by on October 3, 2011 – 12:16 amNo Comment

For one weekend in October, Llangollen turns into the culinary center of Wales as some of Europe’s top producers come together at the Llangollen Royal International Pavilion.

This year, the food festival known as Hamper 2011 is October 15 and 16, 2011. (The Brits call picnic baskets hampers.) Hours both days are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Developed originally as a showcase for traditional food producers in the counties of Denbighshire and Conwy, the event has grown from one room in the International Pavilion to completely filling the whole building and spreading into Llangollen itself.

Discover great food and drink in the local producers market, enjoy live cookery classes and take part in workshops. Pick up exciting new recipes or learn about traditional dishes. Over 80 different exhibitors offer everything from organic meats to fruit lacquers, Welsh cheeses, bread, chocolate and fish.
