Have a culinary conversation with Cincinnati-area food artisans between 6:30 and 8 p.m. August 18, 2011. “Food + Thought” takes place at the Findlay Market, 1801 Race Street, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Donna Covrett, Dining Editor of Cincinnati Magazine, will lead a Q&A session with food artisans from the magazine’s August “Food Lovers” issue. Participants include Sara Bornick of Streetpops, Jenn De Marco of Fab Ferments, Luke Ebner of Permaganic and De Stewart of Colonel De Gourmet Herbs and Spices. Guests will have the opportunity to sample foods from our featured artisans and other Findlay Market vendors. The event caterer is Fresh Table from Findlay Market.

Depending on the weather, “Food + Thought” will take place either outdoors (but under cover) at the Farmers Market Shed or indoors near Taste of Belgium. Tickets are $10 per person and include food and wine sampling.

Findlay Market, Ohio’s oldest continuously operated public market, is open year ’round Tuesdays through Sundays. It is is the only surviving municipal market house of the nine public markets operating in Cincinnati in the 19th and early 20th century. Opened in 1852, the market house is built on land donated to the City of Cincinnati by the estate of General James Findlay (1770-1835) and Jane Irwin Findlay (1769-1851).
