Week of Chocolate

Just one event wasn’t enough for the hometown of Indiana University. An entire week of chocolate events is scheduled throughout Bloomington, Indiana, beginning January 29, 2011, and continuing through February 5, 2011.

The signature event, The Art of Chocolate, is 5:30 to 8 p.m. January 30, 2011, in the Indiana University Art Museum, 1133 East Seventh Street, Bloomington, Indiana. Tickets for this gala often sell out, so if you’re planning on attending, Road Trips Foodies, you’d better plan ahead.

More available for those just passing by are the other events planned during Week of Chocolate.

First up: “Sundaes on Saturday”. Design your own sundaes with Bruster’s Ice Cream and lots of chocolate toppings and learn the history of ice cream making at the Monroe County History Center, 202 East Sixth Street, Bloomington, Indiana. You get a free sundae with museum admission (adults $2, children age 6-17 $1) between 1 and 4 p.m.

Chocolate is the theme for bingo at Moose Lodge #1081, 1580 West Bloomfield Road, Bloomington, Indiana. Admission is $20 for the game, held from 6-10 p.m. January 31, 2011. A chocolate luncheon ($25) is February 1, 2011, at Showers Inn Bed and Breakfast, 430 North Washington Street, Bloomington, Indiana. Check the website for more options.
