The Sweetest Destination
Everyone needs a little chocolate therapy now and then, right, Road Trips Foodies? If you’ll be driving in northern Michigan in early February, you may want to add the “sweetest destination” to your itinerary. Shanty Creek Resorts, One Shanty Creek Road, Bellaire, Michigan, is holding its first Mid Winter Chocolate Therapy Escape February 4-6, 2011.
It being winter and all, there’ll be plenty of snow sports to tempt you outside. Inside, well, there’s chocolate and more chocolate. Guests will be treated to a variety of chocolate tastings, chocolate making demos, chocolate spa treatments and chocolate cooking competitions.
Chocolatiers from around Michigan will be on hand to show (and let you sample) their wares. Of course, these vendors will also be offering special sales opportunities for the upcoming Valentines Day.
The all-inclusive winter weekend adventure (starting at $199 per person) includes two nights’ lodging, breakfast daily and a voucher good for 10 chocolate samples.
