Wurstfest
There are all sorts of puns to describe the Wurstfest, but if you love to eat the very best German sausages, Road Trips Foodies, you won’t want to be distracted from planning your trip to Landa Park in New Braunfels, Texas, sometime between October 29 and November 7, 2010.
Wurstfest is, of course, a 10-day festival of the city’s German heritage (complete with a variety of entertainment). Proclaimed by the Mayor for the first time in 1961, the festival honoring this most delectable of local foods began as a one-day affair. Wurstfest always starts on the Friday before the first Monday in November.
Psst: In 1982, Wurstfest acquired Jerome Nowotny’s “World’s Largest Beer Bottle Collection”, which boasts more than 17,000 bottles. A portion of the collection, along with other festival memorabilia, is now on display in Der Spass Haus at the fest.
