UnCork York
The second annual “Wine Just Off the Vine” takes place at a dozen wineries along the UnCork York Wine Trail in Pennsylvania November 19 through 21, 2010. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
At this “behind the scenes” event, Road Trips Foodies, you’ll sip freshly-pressed wines and sample unusual flavors. (Think: Tamanend Winery‘s pumpkin wine alongside and Cullari Vineyards & Winery‘s new chocolate wine paired with fresh fruit). UnCork York winemakers will be on hand to share the passion they pour into each vintage.
“When you sample young wines that are either freshly bottled or still in tanks or barrels, you’ll be getting a first hint at what the vintage was all about,” notes Allegro Vineyards winemaker Carl Helrich. “Newly-harvested wines usually show more primary fruit characteristics and are usually edgier and more vibrant.”
Your $10 ticket includes an official UnCork York Wine glass and a 10% discount at participating wineries. (Tickets are available at the wineries.)
The year-round UnCork York Wine Trail features 14 wineries in the York, Lancaster, Gettysburg, and Harrisburg areas of Pennsylvania.
