Tea in a Savannah Garden
Where better to learn about 19th century American tea traditions than by attending a “Tea in the Garden” at the Isaiah Davenport House Museum, 314 East State Street, Savannah, Georgia. Upcoming dates are May 6, 13, 20, 21, 27 and 28, 2010 — all starting at 5:30 p.m.
Guests will hear about the history of tea and tea traditions relating to early 19th century consumers. They will tour areas of the home where tea service took place and will participate in an afternoon tea given with costumed interpreters in the courtyard garden. Tickets are $18 (and, Road Trips Foodies, you probably ought to get ’em in advance so you aren’t disappointed when you drive into Savannah).
The Davenport House is a property of the Historic Savannah Foundation.
