Real Food Festival in Earls Court
The third annual Real Food Festival takes place May 7 through May 9, 2010, in the Earls Court Exhibition Centre on Warwick Road in London, England.
This, Road Trips Foodies, is probably the biggest producers market you’ll ever seen, with more than 400 producers of food and drink. With the United Kingdom’s top chefs in action, livestock ranging from water buffalo to chickens and hundreds of the best food and drink producers from across the UK and abroad, the festival is a celebration of everything from the farm to your plate. With cookery workshops, chef demonstrations, tasting sessions and plenty to see, do and buy it is a food lover’s heaven.
The Festival selects the best small producers it can find and subsidizes their attendance, offering visitors an introduction to Britain’s “food heroes”. This approach focuses on good, seasonal, nutritionally-dense food and drink that has been produced in a sustainable and ethical way. The idea is to re-connect people back to where their food comes from, and to promote the idea of buying directly from the people who actually produce the food.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 7, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 8 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 9. Admission at the door is £15.
