Cape Cod and Napa Travel to Anguilla
Road Trips Foodies might consider a visit to the Caribbean island of Anguilla for Cap Juluca‘s Spring Gastronomical Celebration, set for April 24 and 25, 2010. The culinary weekend begins with a wine dinner at Pimms restaurant (pictured, at left), continues with a wine tasting the next afternoon and concludes with a second wine dinner at Spice.
Participating as guest chef is Nitzi Rabin, chef and owner of Chillingsworth Restaurant on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Chef Nitzi will team up with Cap Juluca’s Executive Chef Johnny Clero to create the menus for the dinners. Rob Sinskey from Robert Sinskey Vineyards, Napa, California, is serving as sommelier for the weekend. In addition to hosting the wine tasting featuring his 2007 Perfect Circle Pinot Noirs, Sinskey will choose the wines to complement Chefs Nitzi’s and Johnny’s culinary creations at the pair of wine dinners.
Of course, seating and room reservations are limited for this event. Room rates start at $595 per night.
Cap Juluca resort is a private, self-contained enclave on Anguilla in the British West Indies, situated along two miles of white sand beaches. It offers accommodations in Moorish-style villas with 97 luxurious suites and bedrooms amid tropical gardens.
