The Gettysburg Festival
At the Gettysburg Festival in Pennsylvania June 18-28, 2009, you can experience all the arts, through all the senses. While you enjoy the tantalizing colors and textures of the exhibiting artists’ palettes, the culinary events excite palates of another type. The Festival’s Artistic Director for Culinary Arts, Walter Scheib (pictured), has designed six exquisite events for 2009 that shine a spotlight on fine cuisine as the Festival embraces chefs from across Pennsylvania and pays homage to the culinary arts. Scheib, White House Executive Chef from 1994-2005, offers festival-goers the opportunity to meet talented chefs, explore wonderful products, and the people behind those products as well.
Here’s just a sampling of events on the calendar: “A Country Brunch” at the Hanover Shoe Farm, 10:30 a.m. June 21; “An Evening at the Vineyard” featuring Chef Scheib is set for 6 p.m. June 26 at the Hauser Estate Winery, and “Blues, Beer and Barbecue” at 5 p.m. June 27 in the Gettysburg Railroad Station.
