Art, Wine & Music Festival in Squaw Valley
Well, there’s no snow in the summer, so those ski resorts have to do something to fill their rooms! Squaw Valley, California, hosts its eighth annual Art Wine and Music Festival July 18 and 19.
The festival, open to the public at no charge, features two days of original art showcased by the artists in open-air booths throughout the pedestrian-only village, and afternoons filled with benefit wine tastings and live musical performances on two outdoor stages. A dozen wineries are participating this year, along with 30 artists showcasing sculpture, fiber, photography, graphics, jewelry, glass, wood sculpture and mixed media. The festival features free live music throughout the weekend on two outdoor stages.
The weekend also includes a benefit wine tasting featuring select California wineries each afternoon from 2 to 6 pm. With a donation of $25, festival goers gain entry into the wine tasting and receive a commemorative wine glass. The proceeds from the tasting benefit the Tahoe Forest Hospital, Tahoe Arts for the Schools, and Tahoe Adaptive Ski School.
