South Dakota Peach Festival
The fourth annual South Dakota Peach Festival takes place June 15 and 16, 2019, at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds, 100 North Lyon Boulevard, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Road Trips Foodies will be especially interested in the world’s largest peach cobbler, the baking contest and the pie-eating contest, but there also will be all sorts of activities for kids and adults — including live music, food and merchant vendors, balloon rides, and a classic car show.
World’s largest peach cobbler? It measures 11 feet by five feet, and is about 8 inches deep. Rich Bennett and his team of volunteer bakers will use 90 pounds of butter, 150 pounds of sugar, 150 pounds of flour, 32 gallons of milk, and 75 gallons of peaches. And, yes, it’s served up to festival goers.
The festival is sponsored by The Fruit Club, which also supplies the peaches for the cobbler.
Admission fee is one non-perishable foodstuff donation for Feeding South Dakota.
