Livermore Valley, California, Barrel TastingThe 11th annual Barrel Tasting Weekend takes place March 23 and 24, 2019, in the Livermore Valley. More than 30 wineries located less than an hour from San Francisco or Silicon Valley will join area breweries and distilleries to offer samples of locally produced libations from noon to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Road Trips Foodies can enjoy brunch at a winery each morning, and pre-purchase some barrel wines at a discount, a practice known as buying “futures.” Many winemakers will be present to pour and discuss their young wines.

Barrel Tasting Weekend provides wine enthusiasts of all experience levels with a fun “snapshot” of how wine evolves from grape to glass. More than a dozen varietals, including Sangiovese, Barbera, Mourvedre, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon, will be presented for tasting.

Barrel Tasting Weekend tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the event. Brunch packages (meal + event ticket) are $55 or $65 depending on the day and Extraordinary Tour Services is offering a package with shuttle service to selected wineries for $79. All tickets and package deals are available for purchase online.
