Whether you want to learn how to identify and search for morel mushrooms, or just buy some to take home, check out the Midwest Morel Fest in Ottawa, Illinois, May 6, 2017.
If you want to hunt, plan to get there by 7:30 a.m. If you want to buy, aim for 1 p.m. when the morel auction is scheduled.
A bonus: from 12:30 to 5 p.m., local home brewers will be offering their wares for tastings. It all takes place at Jordon Block Park, Main Street and Route 23/71N, Ottawa, Illinois.
