Persimmon Festival in Southern Indiana
The 69th annual Persimmon Festival takes place September 19 through 26, 2015, in downtown Mitchell, Indiana.
The eight-day fest features persimmon pudding, of course, but there also will be live entertainment, rides, food, a parade and more, with the hours and activities varying daily.
Of special interest to Road Tips Foodies: September 21 features a lasagna dinner; September 22, pork dinner; September 23, Italian lunch and dinner; September 24, ham, beans & cornbread; September 25, steak dinner; September 26, pancake breakfast and chicken barbecue lunch.
The persimmon pudding and novelty dessert contest takes place September 26 in Mitchell First Church of God, 405 12th Street, Mitchell, Indiana.
The fest is staged by the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce.
