washington_seattle_mallowMacarons are so last year. This year’s “must taste” are hand-made marshmallows. One purveyor of the sweet treat is Mallow Artisan Marshmallows, based in Seattle, Washington.

Founders Brian and Kyra Freeman follow the philosophy behind the quote “Money can’t buy happiness. But it can buy marshmallows, which are kinda the same thing” – Unknown. From his wife’s birthday wish for a fresh chocolate dipped marshmallow free of artificial ingredients or flavorings, a two year old successful business has evolved with more than 25 handcrafted, seasonal flavors.

Achocolypse is one of Mallow’s most decadent and popular flavors. This quadruple chocolate confection begins with an organic mallow base which is covered in cocoa powder, dipped in Belgian chocolate and topped off with a sprinkle of cocoa nibs.

Toasted Coconut has the unique tropical taste of organic coconut essence and is enrobed in toasted, unsulfured coconut flakes.

Vanilla Bean, made from organic Bourbon-Madagascar vanilla beans, is aromatic with the mildly floral nose of one of the world’s best loved spices.

Pumpkin Pie tastes like a bite of everyone’s favorite fall dessert.

Mallow Artisan Marshmallows contain no artificial ingredients, no preservatives and no high fructose corn syrup – and are made using certified kosher gelatin.

One place to find ’em “in person”? New Seasons Market in southern Washington and Oregon.
