Taste of Brown County

indiana_browncounty_taste-2013Wandering southern Indiana next month, Road Trips Foodies? Consider swinging by Nashville, Indiana (map) for the sixth annual Taste of Brown County, set for May 17 and 18, 2013.

New this year is the Downtown GetDown, from 5 p.m. to midnight May 17, 2014. Travel at your own pace as you enjoy the hidden flavors of the local music scene while sipping on your favorite adult beverage or sampling some house specialty drinks to discover a new favorite. Tickets are $15 and include a wrist band that will entitle you to specials for Downtown GetDown participants only, a koozie, 20 tickets to spend May 18, 2014, at the Taste of Brown County, and free rides on the Nashville Express with select stops along the way.

The main event is from noon to 8 p.m. May 18, 2013. “Taste of Brown County” includes a selection of specialty dishes and sweets plus and drinks from many of the restaurants, candy stores, coffee cafes, wineries and snack shops in Brown County. Free live entertainment featured in the family-friendly beer and wine garden. Tickets are $1 each or $10 for 12 tickets on the day of the event.

Insider tip: if you plan on going, there’s an early bird special (expiring May 6, 2013).
