Road Trips Foodies heading across the pond: you know all about London (and maybe York, Cambridge and Oxford), but do you know Cumbria?
This foodie fest is a chance to see what this corner of England is all about. Taste Cumbria, set for September 29 and 30, 2012, offers free admission to the marketplace and booths along the main street in Cockermouth (map).
A special treat will be offerings from Marvejois, France (map) — Cockermouth’s “twin town”. Some 20 French traders will sell their wares.
There’s even a beer garden promising 75 different craft brews plus ciders and perries.
Also on tap are “tutored tastings”, cooking demonstrations and master classes. Who could resist?
