Two new tours have been added to the lineup at Chicago Neighborhood Tours.

“Taste of Edgewater & Uptown” explores the ethnic cuisine of Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Sweden and West Africa in these two northside neighborhoods. In addition to sampling food at two or three eateries, participants will learn about the history of these culturally diverse neighborhoods and see architectural gems and landmark buildings in the area.

“Taste of Albany Park” takes participants through one of the nation’s “most diverse ZIP codes”. In addition to sampling authentic ethnic cuisine at two or three neighborhood restaurants, visitors will glimpse the area’s Swedish heritage at North Park University and learn about Southeast Asian culture at the Cambodian American Heritage Museum.

For information on dates the tours are available, and how to book your ticket, go online. Chicago Neighborhood Tours offers 25 different tours on weekends now through August.

The tours are presented by the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture. All are conducted with a guide by motor coach and by foot, and depart from the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 East Randolph Street, Chicago, Illinois. Check-in time is 9:30 a.m. in the main seating area behind the Randolph Street lobby. Tours range in price from $30-$55. And, yes, they do sell out, so early reservations are highly recommended.
