Shrimp Festival
The 54th annual Shrimp Festival is set for two weekends in late winter. Road Trips Foodies can skip March 3 and 4 because the weekend to be there is March 10-12, 2012, in Lynn Hall Memorial Park, Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
It’s that second weekend when the shrimp dinners are served — and the Beach Lions serve over one thousand pounds of the fresh local sweet pink crustaceans every year.
The foodie fest is sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club, and proceeds benefit the Florida Lions Eyebank, Baskin Palmer Eye Institute, Southeast Guide Dogs, large-print books for the local library, Little League and Florida Lions Camp.
