Music, Brews and BBQ Championship
The annual Music, Brews and BBQ Championship is set for January 27 and 28, 2012, at Windsor Beach 4 in Lake Havasu State Park, Nevada.
This is a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned event, with more than 100 competitors and 50+ vendors. (Road Trips Foodies can already imagine the aromas of barbecued chicken, beef and pork cooking over hickory-stoked fires.)
Special events include cooking classes by 25-time champion Kelly Wertz and music by the aptly-named Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries. Proceeds benefit the Interagency Food Bank.
In this part of the country in late January, expect daytime temperatures in the mid 60’s to 80’s (Fahrenheit, of course) and nights in the low 50’s. For more information on Lake Havasu City, Arizona, go online.
