Food & Wine Series in New Mexico

Gonna be in New Mexico at the end of the month, Road Trips Foodies? Two special events are scheduled at the Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa, Bishop’s Lodge Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

First up is a winemaker event. On March 25, 2011, the resort is partnering with Schug Carneros Estate Winery for “An Evening in the Wine Country”. This six-course winemaker gourmet dinner at 6 p.m. features Bishop’s Lodge Executive Chef Christopher McLean (pictured at left) with special guest Axel Schug. Featured menu items include Meyer Lemon and Prairie Thyme Lobster Risotto, Honey and Chimayo Chile Glazed Duck Breast, and a Strawberry Rhubarb Tart for $95 per person.

On March 26, 2011, the resort will offer a Northern Enchantment Pinot Noir History and Horizontal Tasting. The event includes a 30 minute class by Chef (and Certified Sommelier) McLean with side by side tastes from New Mexico, California, Oregon and French Pinot Noir producers. The session begins at 1 p.m., and is $28 per person.

That evening, Bishop’s Lodge will host a Northern Enchantment Food and Wine Tasting Reception at 6 p.m.. This tasting will feature wines from northern New Mexico wineries paired with food by Chef McLean. Wineries include Estrella del Norte Winery, Black Mesa Winery, Don Quixote Winery and Distillery, Jacoma Vineyards and Vino del Corazon Winery. Cost is $85 per person.
