As many of you already know, your Road Trips Foodie loves Assam tea. In a few days, there’s a festival celebrating this tasty (and natural) beverage.
The Dehing Patkai Festival, January 16-19, 2011, takes place in Lekhapani — a town in Tinsukia, the easternmost district of Assam, India.
Yes, there will be food and crafts fairs and other fun on and alongside the Brahmaputra and Dehing Rivers, but the centerpiece is Assam tea. There are several nearby tea plantations that will be open for visitors.
