Wynwood Kitchen & Bar Opens in Miami
Original artwork by some of the best-known artists from the South Florida urban street art scene fill the walls at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, a new eatery at 2550 NW Second Avenue in Miami’s emerging arts district. It promises innovative brasserie-style cuisine created by master chef Marco Ferraro (pictured — who’s also at the helm of the sibling restaurant in South Beach called Wish).
The exterior is swathed in murals by twin Brazilian artists Os Gêmeos, the American collaborative Dearraindrop and artist Kenny Scharf. A bar area was collaged from top to bottom by graffiti artist Shepard Fairey, in his trademark palette of red, black and gold. German artist Christian Awe created panoramic 20 foot canvases of his abstract art to adorn the dining room. Outdoor dining faces Wynwood Walls, an arts park encompassing a series of 15 murals. An 11-foot-tall multi-colored sculptural man by David Benjamin Sherry welcomes guests to the restaurant.
Wynwood, Wish and the arts park are projects of Goldman Properties: Jessica Goldman Srebnick and Tony Goldman.
