Wandering through the streets of big cities such as Prague may give you a taste of another country, but for the full immersion experience, there’s nothing like staying in the rural countryside, Road Trips Foodies.

Agritourism offers visitors the chance to connect with daily life, not to mention sample some of the freshest and most authentic food of the region. Sometimes, you can even stay overnight on a farm and witness (or participate in) agricultural life first-hand.

The Belina organic farm is located on the edge of the Slavkov Forest at the foothills of T?ebou? Peak. The bio farm raises sheep, goats, cows, pigs and horses. While there, you can try your hand at weaving baskets from rattan and theprocessing of sheep’s wool using traditional techniques.

Sasov organic farm produces feed crops, buckwheat, potatoes, onions and soybeans. One of the farm’s best-known products is organic salami called as “biouherak”, which is processed with salt rather than nitrates.

You can stay overnight at the Javorice Lhotka organic farm, either in a farmhouse room or camping in your own tent. While there, don’t miss the chance to taste honey and lamb, apples, pears, cherries and rowanberries — plus their own fruit ciders and liqueurs.
