Restaurant Weeks: Boston
The next Boston Restaurant Week is actually two weeks: August 15-20 and August 22-27, 2010. (Yes, you read that right: Saturday, August 21, is NOT included!)
During this special event (marking its 10th anniversary this summer), participating restaurants will serve three-course (appetizer, entrée and dessert), prix fixe meals for $20.10 at lunch and $33.10 at dinner. There’s also a two-course “light lunch” priced at $15.10.
If you haven’t checked out the cost of restaurant meals in Boston, Massachusetts, lately, you’l find that these prices are a definite bargain, even though the price listed is per person and does not include beverages, tax or a gratuity.
At least 225 restaurants are participating this year. The neighborhoods with the most participating restaurants are Back Bay, Downtown, South End, North End, Theatre District and Cambridge. The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau has a searchable roster of participating restaurants and their menus for you to contemplate before you commit.
But, Road Trips Foodies, if you’d like to dine at a specific restaurant on a specific date during Restaurant Weeks, you’d better get busy! There is extraordinary competition to score a seat at many of of the restaurants. Go ahead and make reservations in advance (many are available via OpenTable.com). You may also call participating restaurants directly, of course.
Here’s your chance to revisit an old favorite at a great price — or try somewhere new (this year,
diners can try at least seven restaurants that have opened within the last six months). A selection of nationally-recognized chefs (and cookbook authors) are participating in Restaurant Week.
The event has grown in size every year since it began in 2001 as a one-week, once-a-year event with 30 participating restaurants.
