Pembrokeshire Fish Week
There’s a seriously fishy festival June 26 through July 4, 2010, in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Fish week includes more than 200 events and activities especially for aficionados of fresh fish and shellfish! There are gourmet tastings, cookery demonstrations and talks, island rambles and coastal activities.
Enjoy a Celebrity Masterclass with Chef Valentine Warner, presenter of the BBC series “What to Eat Now”, or a feast of fish cooked by seafood champion, chef and proprietor of the Seahorse, Mitch Tonks. New this year are coasteering and foraging at the cliffs of Abereiddi, followed by a fish broth served on the beach and a cookery course with Welsh chef Angela Gray.
Other events include an introduction to sea kayaking and fishing, after which you can cook your fresh catch at a beach barbecue; an evening river boat trip to explore the coastal scenery followed by a local fish supper back ashore, plus demonstrations and courses where you can enjoy hundreds of mouthwatering opportunities to tuck into fresh, locally caught fish and shellfish.
Restaurants, pubs, cafés and bars in the area have special menus throughout the week from seafood extravaganzas and fish tapas to freshly dressed local crab salads, and seafood chowders.
