Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival
Now here’s something new, Road Trips Foodies: can you produce a one- to three-minute video? Think about entering — and attending — the world’s first wine film festival! Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival: The Vinos was inspired by events like the Sundance Film Festival and Cannes (although it’s probably more like the Big Rock Eddies beer commercial film festival).
Here’s the scoop: Produce a video about your favorite British Columbia winery (or, really, anything having to do with BC wine) and send it in. A celebrity judging panel will choose the top “best of class” entertainment. Then the submissions of the top finalists will be shown during a party at 8 p.m. June 10, 2010, at the Watermark Beach Resort, 15 Park Place, Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.
The Vinos party will be like a spoof of the Oscars party in Los Angeles, where participants get to walk the Red Carpet and pretend they are Hollywood VIPs. Best of all they will get to do this while actually hanging out with real Hollywood Celebrities in town for the Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival. (The 24 finalists and their guests will be invited to attend the party for free; everybody else pays $29 for a ticket.) The OCWF is co-hosted by Jason Priestley (Beverly Hills 90210) and Chad Oakes (Emmy award-winning producer) who will bring along a bunch of their Hollywood friends.
Of course, that’s not all that’s happening at the festival, which runs June 10-12, 2010. Among the other events scheduled are two on June 12: the Note Bene release party at Black Hills Estate Winery and a celebrity wine auction. For more information on the region, check out Destination Osoyoos.
