Back-to-Back Food Festivals in Croatia
A Cuisine Festival is underway in Mali Lošinj, Croatia, an island in the northern Adriatic Sea. Chefs from 14 local restaurants are competing through April 9, 2010, using locally sourced foods.
Then, starting April 10 and running through April 18, 2010, there’s another –the Asparagus Festival in Lovran, Croatia. Asparagus grown in this town on the Kvarner Riviera is known for its special “sea air” taste. There’ll be lots of great food, including the famous “Grand Omelet”, using 1000 eggs and 30 kg of wild asparagus cooked in a pan that’s 6-1/2 feet in diameter!
