UnCork YorkCelebrate the arrival of new vintages in York, Pennsylvania, during the 2010 Tour de Tanks Event. It takes place every Saturday and Sunday in March 2010. Meet fellow wine enthusiasts, chat with UnCork York winemakers and and sample food and wine pairings. The 13 wineries of the UnCork York Wine Trail will be open weekends in March 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for special tank and barrel tastings of vintages before they are bottled. Participants receive a souvenir UnCork York Wine Glass to take along on the trail. Newest winery is Hummingbird Ridge Winery (opened in December 2009), which will be making its inaugural Tour de Tanks. Tickets (available online and at participating wineries) are $20 and valid all four weekends in March at 13 wineries. Visit as many wineries along the UnCork York Wine Trail as you like, as many times as you please.

After an afternoon sipping splendid vintages, Road Trips Foodies, contemplate yet another culinary adventure. Tour de Tanks Friday Night Winemaker Dinners feature exclusive food and wine pairings hand-selected by UnCork York winemakers and masters of local cuisine. Winemakers will be on hand at each dinner to discuss dimensions of the vine, preferred parings and why each was hand-selected to accent the chefs’ scrumptious creations. Tickets for the dinners include the meal, selected wines, tax and gratuity (Advance tickets are required and space is limited.)

The year-round UnCork York Wine Trail features 14 wineries in the York, Lancaster, Gettysburg and Harrisburg areas. Traveling the trail you’ll encounter a French-style chateau, sprawling vineyards, boutique tasting rooms and welcoming winemakers.
