Cocktail Masterclass in London
If London, England, is on your travel schedule, Road Trip Foodies, consider timing your visit to take advantage of a cocktail masterclass at Vinopolis, an events venue at No. 1 Bank End in London’s Bankside neighborhood. Beginning at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month (the next one is September 3, 2009), the 1-1/2 hour classes not only teach you how to shake and stir your favorite cocktails like a master, you’ll have the opportunity to (ahem!) sample six drinks! It’s an interactive class, offering insight into bar culture and the art of bartending as well as instructions on creating some of the world’s most popular cocktails. At the end of the class, participants put their newly acquired skills to the test by preparing their very own masterpieces. The cost is £49 per person. The whisky masterclasses are less expensive: £39 per person. Also 1-1/2 hours, they’re scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month, with the next one on September 10, 2009. In this class, participants taste six single malt and blended whiskies, including Scotch, Bourbon and Irish.
