Belfast Taste & Music Fest
Road Trip Foodies already in Ireland have a must-stop this weekend. The 2009 Belfast Taste & Music Fest takes place August 6-9, 2009 — and 14 Chicago’s finest chefs will be there! The fest takes place in the Botanic Gardens, billed as the largest al fresco restaurant in town! Chefs from the Windy City are Jim Freeland (Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria), Jimmy Bannos (Heaven on Seven), Lance P. Daly (Marriott Hotel), Michael Garbin (Union League Club of Chicago), Olivia and Isabella Gerasole (Spatulatta), Tony Hu (Lao Szechuan), Jose Luna (White Eagle Golf Club), Peter McGarrity (Harry Carray’s Italian Steakhouse), Toni Motamen (Raw Bar and Grill), Patty Rasmussen (Tre Kronor), Filippo Massimo Rubino and Brian Wright (Rosebud), Jackie Shen (Red Light), Dominique Tougne (Bistro 110), Randy Waldner (Gibson’s Bar and Steakhouse), and Don Zajac (Phi Stefani Signature Restaurants). Of course, Northern Ireland’s top chefs also are offering their wares. Participating are Bob McDonald (Deli on the Green), Paul Catterson (Mango), Dean Coppard (Uluru), Trevor Cunningham (Restaurant 23), Simon Dougan (Yellow Door Deli), Alan Higginson (No. 27 Talbot Street), Noel McMeel (Lough Erne Golf Resort) and Tony O’Neil (The Merchant Hotel).
